Mallard is an app made by one person, not a company. I built it to work without knowing anything about you: your habits stay on your phone.

Who's behind Mallard

Mallard is developed by Florian Guillot, as an individual — one person, not a company. For any question about your data, email me: contact@mallardapp.app.

What stays on your phone

Everything you note — your habits, your values, your history, your settings — is stored only on your device. Nothing is sent to a server. If you uninstall the app, it all goes with it.

Backup and transfer

To switch phones, you can export a backup. The file is encrypted: the code the app gives you is the key. You carry it yourself (Drive, email, cable…) — that's the only moment your data leaves the device, and it stays unreadable without the code, even for the intermediary that hosts the transfer. I have no access to it — neither the file nor the code.

Notifications

Reminders are local notifications, set by the app on your phone. No server, no data sent.

What I never do

No advertising. No ad trackers, no cross-app tracking. I don't sell or share your data. No account, no email collection. That's not Mallard's model, and it won't become one.

Your rights

The GDPR gives you rights over your data: to access it, correct it, erase it, take it with you. Since everything stays on your phone, you already do most of it yourself: erase everything from the app, or uninstall. For anything else, email me: contact@mallardapp.app. And if you feel something is wrong, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).

Retention

Your local data stays until you erase it.
